Menu Bar Icons ?

Just been trying to move/remove icons in the menu bar and nothing works, clicking holding and dragging does not move them and holding cmd and dragging them off the bar does nor remove them.

Any ideas ?

Hold down command and drag them out. Most menulings are not made to follow Apples guidelines, and have to be removed through a preference setting in their main application.

OK thanks, yes thing is I cannot find that stay in mrmu bar option, they are programs that open at startup so maybe that's it ?
