Menu Bar Keyboard Input Problem?

Hi all,
I have had this issue with Mavericks and now Yosemite on my 2012 MBP 13. When I check the "show input menu in menu bar," which used to show an American flag, now shows the icon in my screenshot. My MBA shows the flag still. Any idea how to fix this, really minor, issue.
