I'm having a strange and very annoying problem. Since the latest El Capitan update, whenever I am in an app, the menu at the top of the screen is fine. It appears normally. However, when I am on my desktop and click anywhere on the desktop (either a file or just the desktop itself), my menu turns to this:

As you can see, all of the icons are white instead of black.

Does anyone know why this might be happening and if there is a fix?

In addition to that, my computer has randomly been locking up and not even trying to do a hard restart works. It just as randomly unlocks. When it wakes, it takes about 20 seconds to wake rather than instantly. I have a 2015 MBP, so it's not age. I had 0 issues before the upgrade.
