Merge sms.db

Hello everyone!

I just got my iPhone 4 and sold my iPhone 3G. I had extracted the sms.db from my old iPhone, having planned on moving my texts to my new iPhone. The problem is, my iPhone came with 4.0.2, meaning I can't jailbreak and import my texts. Since I won't be able to jailbreak until 4.1, how will I merge my old texts with the texts I make on 4.0.2?

I tried searching but there doesn't seem to be too much information on this. I don't want to lose my old texts!

I believe there are pogroms to edit backup files. Presumably you could edit your iPhone 4 backup with your old SMS.db, then restore.

I've personally never tried this, but should work.
