Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5G77 Safari/525.20)

There's finally a streamlined google search automatically on the iPhone !

If you use the Google app from the app store (you know, the one that has voice searches if you're from California...) and enter a search, you get the results in the lovely, readable new format.

Right, but this thread was pointing out that doing searches in Safari now looks like that too. That's a change which is all the O.P. meant by starting the thread.

(Also, what? Voice searches work for me in Virginia...)

I didn't see the reference to Safari in my haste to read between working.... But actually, I still don't see the reference to Safari. Is that what the OP meant by 'Automatically'?

No accent? Hmmm... I'm British and I don't have an accent... Although other Brits obviously do if they're not from where I'm from...

Well, I'd seen this mentioned elsewhere this morning, so I came to it with that background knowledge.

It is kind of a sparse post...the only guy who knew what he meant was the one who already knew the story! It probably needed more info.

I have just noticed that when i search google within safari it now defaults to the mobile version of google and not the classic version. I am very happy to see this change.

Let me know if you are getting the change as well

Hmmm... I never noticed this until you posted... I've got the mobile version popping up when I do a Google search in Safari!
Sweet!

Yea I'm happy to see the change. I remember getting bummed out about it when someone posted about the new live search webapp and wishing google defaulted to their iphone web page. Then to my luck google did change it.

Mine doesn't - can anyone in the UK confirm? Maybe it's region specific.

seems to depend what google is set to

if I go to google.com and it is set to mobile, it will search the mobile version from the top bar, if its on the main the main google is searched

just right for me, I hate mobile sites

still doesn't work. My google.com defaults to google mobile which is great but when i search using the google bar in safari, it searches the web version. Frustrated!

Anyone figure out a way to opt out of this and use classic as the default? I hate the mobile version. There's no shopping link for checking prices and the image results are too few.
