[Merged] Pink and Red iPhones Spotted, Rumors of New IPhone Mini / 3G v. 2 / etc

An iPhone in a hue other than black, white, or silver? While a red model has been rumored since before the 3G even launched, we've never thought about a pink one -- let alone one hitting eBay. The text on the back of the device convinces us that this isn't a simple ColorWare job, but there aren't any photos of the back of the packaging either. Our take? Some OEM in Asia whipping up custom colors. But hey, Macworld's just under a week away, so who knows?

You can find housings on eBay that have the lettering written on the bottom. I think you can do this cheaper if you pull the back off yourself and take it to Maaco... they'll paint the back for $20, the color of your choice.

I'm not against other colours. I think it'd be pretty cool, as long as it's done right. I saw that red one they posted a long time ago, and oh God was it fracking ugly.

I originally saw this on Engadget. I thought the pink iPhone was pretty neat.
But I was just guessing it to be a Photoshopped fake on eBay or a Colorwared iPhone.

Pretty neat though. Let's see if the highest bidder got their surprise.

I wonder how many people buy these back covers without realizing just how much of a challenge it can be just to remove the back cover in the first place?!

Its short for ModMyi.com (formerly ModMyiPhone.com before Apple stepped in) and they have a bunch of different iPhone modding things from software to hardware

You can actually do it yourself...

all you have to do is buy a diffrent color backing off ebay....cheap like 10 bucks... and it comes with a kit...you take your iphone apart and change the backing.
