Long story short, I wiped my macbook air in the summer before I went to Europe. Before I did that I dragged my iPhoto library onto an external hard drive. A family member died tonight and a lot of photos are in the external hard drive. How can I combine my older iPhoto library with my new one? Thank you very much.

Thank you so much, I got the photos. Now I have another question I have an apple tv, what is the best way to display photos/music to it?

As long as the Air is on the same network, just leave iTunes running and it will serve up the photos to the AppleTV. On the AppleTV go over to the Computer icon and set it up so it connects to the Air.

But you do have to have the Air on with iTunes open to do this.

Would you recommend me making an iMovie or what?

I think you could use iMovie to create a fancy way of showing the pictures, but iTunes will display them in a slideshow without you having to do anything extra, just gave them in an album.
