I put merging in quotes simply because I know it can't really be done. Here's what I want to do:

I'm going to be updating my iPhone plan to a Family Talk plan, and adding a iPhone 3GS. My SO will be receiving my current 3G. She has her own iTunes account, although she doesn't have a lot of iTunes-purchased music. I'd like to be able to allow her to sync my old iPhone to my account when I turn it over to her, so we can share apps, however with her separate account I'm assuming this will cause a problem.

Could I just convert all her purchased music into iTunes Plus files and then have her use my account? Would this accomplish what I'm looking for, and allow her to still keep her music?
