merging message history from one mac to another

Hello,
I'm having a problem merging some message history/conversations

i know where the folders are located, found the archive and attachments folder and the chat.db,

when i copy the files into the new mac, its just overwrites the existing ones, even if i say MERGE and not REPLACE,

so when I've done it, its erased all the convo on my new mac,

I'm just wanting to merge them altogether, do you think this is possible ?
