Hello Everyone,
My Mom is getting a iPad Air 2 soon and I am trying to figure out a way to transfer her pictures from one iPad to the other. Her iPad 2 has been synced with a computer that is long gone. In my experience if you backup an iOS device on a computer that you did not originally sync with, you would only get a certain portion of the backup and the rest of the data is lost. She uses her iPad to store pictures from our trips and has way more data than what an iCloud backup could hold. Any ideas on moving the data between the devices on my Mac would be great. Thank you

If you have another Mac available you can sync with that one. It doesn't matter if you previously synced with another Mac. iTunes will ask if you want to use the Mac the iPad is tethered to to sync. Use iPhoto to back up the photos.

Option 2 to is to back up w/ iCloud. You can use iCloud Photos beta in iOS 8 to just back up photos.

Option 3 is to buy the Air 2 at an Apple Store and ask if they can xfer everything from the iPad 2 to the Air 2. I know they do this for Macs so I'd think they'd do it for iPads too.
