It sure is - Yanno I just noticed (aye dios Im getting absent minded in my old age ) that I posted this in the PowerPC forum and not Early Intel - the Pandora app unfortunately doesnt support PPC. This is a screen shot of my 09 C2D MBP running El Capitan and is what I use upstairs as a casual DD use armchair mac. It doubles as a Pandora jukebox connected to a nice BT JBL speaker I have. I can let it go and it plays a pretty good (dare I say better than Apple Music) mix of tunes across most of my stations/genres I choose and it's free. I've used Pandora for years in this way and luckily they have never gotten obnoxious with commercials. Took me a minute to find the stand alone player which is about 50-75% as CPU intensive as the in browser alternative. Anyhow, it is great as I can stick the mbp and BT speaker in my bookcases upstairs and it sounds great while remaining completely unnoticed so is great for ambience/room music when family or friends are over.
I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday celebrations with their families and loved ones. Here’s hoping all have a happy, healthy and uplifting 2025.
I certainly did. Aside from literally everyone who came over for Christmas getting an icky 36hr flu bug (literally all attendees including myself at this point lol ) it was a nice time with good food and family. Caring is sharing after all haha Time to break out the temperature controlled soldering iron and hot air wand station woohoo I hope you had a great time with yours as well. 2025 will rock.
**I think I posted here vs Early Intel because PowerPC is where Ive always hung out, Im comfy here and is my default landing spot when I stop by MRF.
Happy holidays. @Certificate of Excellence just a small tip to make BM (and/or SL) look less cluttered….
Right click on the stop button, this menu pops up. Choose icons (vs icons and text), and choose small icons.
True, however the PPC version of “Pianobar” certainly does work! I use this on my Powerbook G4 to listen to Pandora all the time and have posted it here..
