Is anyone else getting a “Message Failed to Send” error when trying to send photos to android phones. I’ve tried with several different friends and cannot send a photo to an android phone. Of course being in the USA these are all going to be Samsung phones so maybe it’s some crap Samsung is doing?

Cellular is on and I’ve tried with Wi-Fi on and off. Send as SMS (When iMessage is unavailable) is toggled on. Of course MMS Messaging is on.

I’ve searched Google, but only come up with fake tech support articles.

I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro Max with the latest iOS 16.1.2

As a matter of fact, yes. I have this as well. And not just with Samsung devices although I've confirmed that several do in fact have Samsung devices. It's also happening with Motorola devices too. So I assume this is an Android thing and not a manufacturer specific thing, unless its Apple being Apple...

I've noticed that it will fail to send immediately. If I tap the red exclamation point and retry, it will then send fine.

iPhone 13 Mini, iOS 16.2's latest beta, but it's been happening since iOS 16 released, really.

I can’t even get it to work on the second try. It might also be with other brands, but I don’t have any friends that have another brand I can test.

I’m tempted to go to the Apple store and have them look at it although I’m fairly certain none of the geniuses in the Apple Store have an android phone to test it. Most likely they will tell me I should reset the phone to factory settings but I really don’t want to do that and then find out it didn’t help.

Or they'll pull a typical Apple and say "Buy your friends iPhones"...

At least I can send them if I try again. I'm pretty sure the "Geniuses" in the Apple Store will or can help. I'm not even sure how to troubleshoot it. Never happened until iOS 16 though.

I would convince my friends to buy an iPhone but if you think Apple has a cult following in the USA, Samsung has people that are just as crazy about the brand. I have a friend that has a Samsung phone, tablet, TV, stove etc. etc. I'm pretty sure she goes to the church of Samsung 🤣
