I have a 4th Gen iPod Touch running iOS 6. Since last week, the Messages app is not working properly. I can receive iMessages and see them in the Notification Centre, but when I open the Messages app it is just a blank screen. Consequently, I cannot completely read nor respond to any messages. I've tried opening the messages app from my contact list and selecting 'send message' but that doesn't fix the issue either. Also tried turning iMessage on/off but to no avail.

I don't really want to do a complete restore of my iPod since I've not backed it up in a while. Anyone know what could fix this problem without the complete restore option?
