Usually I can solve most problems with my computer on my own and have some extensive knowledge of the ins and outs of iOS. But I have had this problem for I can't even describe how long.

My Messages between my Macbook Pro and my iPhone don't sync anymore. This always occurs after I restore my iPhone.

My macbook shows all the messages I have sent just fine but does not pick up on the ones I receive. Both devices are set to send and receive from my phone number.

Normally I solve this by signing out on both devices, closing the messages app, and trashing the .plists associated with messages on OS X. Not sure why this solution is not working anymore.

When they are both signed in my Macbook gets the alert that says my phone just signed into the account but my phone does not get the alert saying my macbook will now be using my phone number.

Anyone have some idea of what I can do?
