Messages Attachments gone?

So I restored my iPhone 5s, and restored my iCloud backup. But all of my messages attachments don't show up anymore?

I have a similar possibly related problem.

My wife just got her iPhone 6 and when I restored from her backup, she has about 80 or so out of 500 pictures missing from her photos app. There are gray boxes and the photo shows up briefly before disappearing. I was going to try to restore again, but haven't had the chance yet.

When? I noticed one time after a restore from iCloud backup that it took a couple of days for absolutely everything to be restored as it was.
