Messages - contacts same as iPhone

Recently upgraded to Mountain Lion and have started using Messages. I've noticed however that when new messages come to my inbox on my Mac, they show up as the senders mobile number, and not as the names stored on my iPhone. So, for example, rather than showing up as 'Joe Bloggs' they show as 07123456789.

Any way to get them to appear as they do on my iPhone?
 
Messages on your Mac would get the information from Contacts on your Mac. Do you sync contacts between your Mac and iPhone?
