Anyone tried the new app called just "messages" on cydia? Came up as a recent change today. Kinda curious about it and wondering if anyone has checked it out

Ok I'm testing this out now

So far I like it a lot , everything works 100% no crashes

You do need activator to select a compose gesture

To reply when you get a message just click on the banner or pull down NC & touch the message

On the lock screen to reply to a message just slide the message or if you have bulletin" drag down NC

iMessages works

The black theme works

It's just the message app that shows up ,so you can send pics from the message ,even from the lock screen

Ill be using this instead of bitesms

In iOS 5 I had intelliscreenx & messages+ but I'm not paying again for iOS 6

I wish bitesms didn't have to use activator for lock screen QC. It should just have an icon there like Torch. Guess wrong place for this lol.

biteSMS > everything else. :)

The only thing I like that bitesms does over this is give you the contact photo in the message list. Otherwise it's banner ad is ugly and easy to click on accident, and it's quick reply popup box doesn't fit with iOS whatsoever.

There's no banner ad in the paid version. Bite now has plenty of themes in cydia, with new ones pretty much everyday.

Operative part bolded. Paying $8 for something I just want to be able to quick reply (which the OS should do anyhow) is a bit dumb. Maybe if I was overseas and wanted to do lots of international texting paying for BiteSMS might make sense, but otherwise no.

Quick Reply doesn't have banner ads. Also, you can use the stock Messages app instead of the BiteSMS app with BiteSMS installed. Maybe you're talking about something I don't understand.

I gave the new Messages tweak a quick trial and don't think it's for me as I'm mainly a BiteSMS quick compose and quick reply user. Also, using LockInfo 5, I couldn't get it to launch from the Favorites widget.

Trying it now. I have seen bitesms sometimes failing to recognize that the contact is on iMessage. If you use the stock app it does it very well even when bitesms isn't.
So lets see what this app does.

Bite does this for you without the need for activator.

Hm, I uninstalled Activator and don't see any way to QC from the lockscreen. The only way I can do this is if I enable Notification Center on Lockscreen, pull that down on lockscreen, and hit the icon in the lower right.

Is there another way to enable this?

Sorry for threadjacking, btw.

Yes. The way I do it is tap volume button the tap volume ui to compose.

Ohh ok. Yeah I disabled that a while ago and completely forgot about it. Thanks for that. :D

Go to bitesms settings>quick compose>use activator>turn it on. Ten go to activator and go to lockscree and set the activator gesture you want to use for BiteSMS QC.
