Messages disappear on iOS 14.2 + iPhone 12 Pro Max

I’m running into this issue with group message I’m in that messages have been randomly disappearing. Conversations have shown up on my phone for a little (20 minutes since they’re sent) but then all of the sudden they disappear. Have also gotten notification that I get a new message but it’s not showing. All messages show up fine on my MacBook

Have tried signing out and in iCloud. Have tried turning iMessage on and off. No fix.
