Am I the only one having an issue with Messages in Ventura? I generally keep Messages on the desktop and Chrome on another space. Lately [possibly since Ventura update?], when I swipe back to the desktop with the active messages window on top and start typing no text appears. I have to specifically click on messages to get the text to show up. Sometimes it does suggest what I've typed in an autocorrect/suggestion bubble - mostly just nothing. Swiping to other apps doesn't seem to have the same issue.

EDIT: only seems to happen if swiping away and back, CMD+Tab in either direction and I can type fine.

I'm seeing the same behavior in 13.0.1. If you have a partially typed message, however, pressing any arrow key will move the cursor and then you can continue to type. However, if your blinking cursor is at the start of a blank message, that won't work (you have to click on Messages first in that case). I also noticed that if you have a partially typed message already there, hitting the enter/return key will send it even if you don't click on Messages first.

IMO, not a really big deal to click before typing, but definitely seems odd to see a blinking cursor when it doesn't actually have focus. Seems like a minor bug for sure.

I recommend leaving feedback using the Feedback Assistant. You can do this for free, and the Feedback Assistant application is on your Mac. Just search for it, and it should populate in Spotlight. Be sure to leave a detailed step-by-step process on how to reproduce this bug, and take a screen recording as appropriate.
