Messages for Mac History

So today I turned my Mac on and opened Messages, it took messages about 10 minutes to pull in updated chats...weird.

I noticed I can't remove past conversations. If I delete or clear the transcript and even delete the history it comes back once I open Messages again. Is there a file that holds this? I could see this eating up disk space after a while. I normally share videos and photos from my iPhone.

Any suggestions?

Found it, it was in my ~Library/Messages
