Messages help syncing iPhone

I have no issues receiving imessages on the watch and they update the thread if I answer them on the iphone. My issues is that if I delete messages on my iphone, they remain on the watch. I have the setting set to "mirror iphone". My assumption was that if I deleted the message on the phone, it would also delete off the watch. Anyone have a fix or is this supposed to be this way? Thanks!

It's supposed to be that way, unfortunately. It works the same way across other devices - if you delete on the ipad, the message stays on the mac and the iphone, etc. Dunno why Apple has it this way, but they do.
