Messages icon disappeared from the home screen

Help! My girlfriend's messages icon disappeared from her home screen and we do not know where it went. It shows up in the multitask bar. Where could it have gone?

Reboot the phone and see if it comes back. If it doesn't, you're most likely going to need a restore.

Reboot and if that doesn't get, reset home screen layout in Settings>General>Reset
