Hello there

I deleted 10 GB of Messages in iCloud. I have only left 150 messages roughly but in iCloud > iCloud > Messages, it shows a number of more than 6000 messages.

Apple is telling me they are deleted and I must take their word for granted.

I believe it may be just a sync issue but they don’t want to hear anything.

Today, they called me back and told me it was for an upcoming feature for iOS26. I am not joking.

This was a bit shocking and this what was the Engineering Team said to the Support guy.

I told them that it didn’t make sense so he is going to check back again with the Engineering Team.

I felt they took me for a fool.

So yeah, a bit upset by this interaction with support. Of course, I had to call 3 times previously before a L2 engineer was assigned to my case.

Anything I can do to get real traction on this?

Support came back to me and told me it’s totally normal because the number tallies not only for Messages but also notifications, calendar invitation etc. I proved by A+B I have currently 471 messages but Messages in iCloud shows 6496 messages.

They told me to disable it if that bothers me.

I’m a bit shocked.
