iPhone Messages Landscape View on 6+

I'm thinking of upgrading from the 6 to 6s+ and I want to know what Messages looks like in landscape view on the 6+ running iOS9. In iOS 8 the message list is always visible even when typing a new message. It's weird/annoying because in Notes and Mail there's a double-arrow icon in the upper left that lets you make the new note or message go full-screen.

Not possible on iOS 9 either, Messages is the same.
