Messages launches wrong photo

I'm experiencing a problem with OSX Messages where double-clicking a photo sent to me from an iMessage user loads a prior photograph from that message thread in the popup window. Desn't happen all the time, and usually loads one from earlier in the day.

Has anyone else seen this, or have a fix?
