Messages Memory Usage

Yet another messages post. :(

Anyone run into huge memory usage on messages? I have three conversations, and it's using 1.15-1.5GB of ram. It hangs about once a day when typing a message, and if, god forbid, I accidentally type into the search bar, I have to force quit it.
