Since installing Mavericks, I have noticed that Messages is not displaying images sent by other people. (It will display images that have been sent by me.)

I have attached a screenshot. (Message was received before Mavericks was installed.) Double clicking on the filename creates a "Quick Look" popup that is very slow to load. If I click the magnifying glass instead, OSX will create a new file in my Downloads folder, and take me there.

This isn't the worst thing in the world, but I would rather see the images inside the conversation again.

This isn't the worst thing - but It's one of the worst things

I use messages to send little images back and fourth for work all day. "Oh you mean this little corner here?" Etc. It's integral to my design work and in helping clients understand things more quickly.

I am thinking about switching to Adium or something else. I feel like Apple is scaring me away from each of their products one by one. This is the 1984 they were warning us about.
