Hi,

The iCloud sync feature in the Messages app used to work perfectly on my Intel-based Mac on macOS 12.6. On my new 14", which runs 12.6 as well, it doesn't. I can't for the life of me make it work. I tried everything: disabling and re-enabling the sync feature in the preferences pane, logging out from iCloud and then back in, restarting the computer, you name it. Nothing works.
I can see all the messages that I also had on my previous Mac (which were recovered from the Time Machine backup upon configuring the new computer), but that's it. Nothing new ever reaches my Mac.
If I press the "sync now" button, it displays the message "downloading messages from iCloud" at the bottom of the message list, but it does nothing. One hour later the message is still displayed.

Any suggestions as to how I could make it work?

Thank you.

Same doesn’t work with latest iPhone and macOS I’m hoping the macOS 13 fixes it but it’s mega annoying

I am juggling 3 macs all 3 on Monterey, A Iphone 14 Pro Max, a Ipad mini4, and a ipad pro 11' 2nd gen. Yes each one has it's own mind about what to sync and what not to sync. A royal pain in the buns. I wish I could delete everything from all of the messengers on all devices and delete all icloud content related to it and start over hoping they all sync. But I have tried this and they still do not.
