I am hoping this is feature I have been waiting for. With messages in iCloud, does this now allow a clean install and restore just messages?

Wait, for real? There is a health tab in iCloud? I haven't seen tht anywhere. Screenshot?

Just found the thread. So happy.

Apparently so!

Can iCloud sync data from more apps now?
When you open up the Settings app, tap your Apple ID at the top of the page, and then tap iCloud, you'll notice toggle switches that sync a few new data types — Health, Siri, Weather, and Maps.

First is the Health app—it's off by default since Health data is so private. Also off by default is Siri data syncing over iCloud. Since you probably use Siri on more than one device, this setting should help Siri's machine learning get a more complete picture of you.

If you let iCloud sync data from the Weather app, when you add new cities to the Weather app on one device, they'll show up on all your devices. Finally, there's a switch to sync data in the Maps app. I hope this goes beyond just showing you locations you searched for on other devices, but that it also means Maps will be better at offering directions to places on my calendar or in my email, even if I've never searched for them in Maps before.

Its pretty vague, but it appears it will be stored in the cloud and no longer backup dependent! I really hope this includes activity as well! I'm sick of restarting my Apple Watch goals. :(

My iMessage to icloud is greyed out. Am i missing a setting

It’s active. Took a while, and sometimes randomly greyed out, but my phone messages eventually synced. Took all night but my iPad finally pulled everything down, however, not all images have transferred, in one very long thread I noticed only 452 images are shown on iPad vs over 1000 on iPhone...

Not scrolling all the way back to see how much transferred though...

I have a question for those of you who have enabled Messages sync on multiple devices - what happens when you have more than one device that each has a sizeable Messages library already? Both my iPhone and my iPad have pretty enormous libraries - my iPhone's actually goes back to 2008 (!) while the one on my iPad goes back to whenever the introduction of the Messages app on that device was. How good is the conflict resolution?

I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts on how this part works.

I'm wondering this as well. Which takes presedence? How does it handle merge-conflicts? If it merges at all, maybe it just chooses one and that's the master?

Yeah, if anyone knows whether this applies to Activity as well I'd love to know!
