Why can’t iOS default to iMessage for all texts? I called my Mom this morning on her landline. She didn’t answer. So I sent her a text via Siri saying I forgot she was in church and I would call her later. Siri tried sending the message to her landline instead of iMessage/cell number. It gave me an error message, and when I went to send it manually using her pinned iMessage thread on my Mac Studio, it tried again sending it to her landline. I had to start a new text thread (which it autocombined with the previous one since I didn’t delete it).
One would think Messages would default to trying to send via iMessage or to the previous number that was texted instead of changing the number to the number that was called (especially given it would need to switch to SMS).
