I started to set up my new iPhone 14 today and wanted to bring all my old texts over from my current iPhone X.

I didn't previously have Messages synced to iCloud so I turned that on today. After 12+ hours of my phone being plugged in/connected to wifi, my iPhone X says that only 120 MB of Messages have been uploaded to iCloud (out of 15+ GB of messages). And the only thing that appears to make that number increase is turning my phone off and on.

Some texts did sync to my iPhone 14 very early in the process, but the texts are ancient and nothing else has synced in at least 10 hours.

Is this normal? I have good wifi and it doesn't make sense that Messages could upload this slowly. I have over 20 GB of iCloud space left, so I don't think that's the issue.

iCloud sync has been very slow for me. Downloading from has improved. But uploading is awful. I can start a full backup and watch on my router how it will do it in small bursts instead of just constantly doing it.
