Messages won't receive message sent to phone number

Hi Forum,

My Mac messages app keeps unchecking the box next to my phone number. Every time I reboot my system or messages app, the box is unchecked and I don't get any message send to my number on my Mac. This should be possible right? I there anything I can do?
