How come all of a sudden I can't send messages to another iPhone (be it through iMessage or not), but can to anywhere else??

Just started going wrong this morning. Any ideas?

Update - If I turn iMessage off, works perfectly. WTF???

It's ok I've sorted it, but thanks for your responses
