Messed up login screen!

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011) running Yosemite 10.10.

My login screen looked perfect running previous versions of OS X, but now everytime my computer wakes up from sleep I get a distorted background image and "update needed" icon instead of my picture. How can I fix this??
