I have a shiny new iMac, had it 3 weeks or so, and quite like it (ex Windows user here)
In the interests of making it mine, I supposedly changed the look of the dock but now I find I cannot remove anything from the dock at all.
I have an invisible icon on there from a Firefox beta version that I tried out; I can see it says Firefox if I hover over it but it isn't there, I can't click on it with my left mouse button.
I want to take things off my dock - ichat doesn't work from there, not that I use it.
I haven't got parental controls on.

When I click remove from dock the dock itself disappears downwards off my screen and then comes back, with the icon still there. Same if I drag an icon off.

I've tried removing the dock.plist doodah but nothing seems to work, I really don't want to wipe it and start again.

What did you use to "supposedly change the look" of your dock?

prolly replaced the resource files like everyone else... only wrong. Did you use an app or do it yourself?
- Try different user to see if it's system-wide or just your account.
- Repair permissions
- Archive/Install
