Desktop Messed up my iTunes icon!

I tried changing my iTunes icon to a .icns file from the internet, so I did as I was told to do by others and copy the .icns file, go to the iTunes icon, get info > paste it the new .icns file on top of the other, but now my iTunes icon looks like the preview icon and says "ICNS"! Help!

You do it this way, you do not just copy the file, you copy the image in Preview:

On the "get info" screen click on the icon in the top left so it's highlighted and then hit the delete key. It will revert to the original icon.
