so i downloaded a font last week.. the metallica old bandlogo font, don't ask me why.
i tried installing it but it didn't work.

this morning when i woke up, my browsers (firefox&safari) suddenly were in the metallica font.. how do i fix this?
googling it is really difficult as it's really difficult to read.

i added an image for your enjoyment

i removed the font-files but that didn't solve a thing

lol - Is is system wide?

In safari and firefox you can change the default font by going to preferences. Mine is currently set to Century Gothic, but Im not sure if that is standard.

the default font in firefox is still set to Times New Roman.. so that can't be it.

I have found myself in exactly the same situation. It seems to me that if a font is not specifically set by the application then a default is used. This affects many of the labels in applications (including Dreamweaver cs4) and the web.

If I delete the font i installed these cases will show another font (and not an alpha numerical step from the newly deleted font either).

I too would appreciate any light shed on this problem.
As with the first post this problem arose when i installed some fonts.

(installed fontexplorer but it has a 'crash bug' and so not much use to me right now)
