steelphantom macrumors 6502a Oct 15, 2005 555 1 Jan 6, 2007 #2 Try Audacity. It should do what you want pretty easily. If not, then Garageband is always an option.

Never had good luck with Audacity - always crashed and screwed up Core Audio (for which I needed to do the Garageband "repair" trick).
