So I got my new iPhone 4 yesterday, from Apple store (UK). I noticed that there is a black metal bezel around the edges of the front and back glass, not something I'd noticed before on friends' iPhones but it's fairly discrete. I was wondering if all iPhones have this or if this is a possible redesign?

This is different from the silver metal band that goes round the edge of the whole phone.

FWIW my serial number starts with 85031.

Any thoughts? Is this black metal bezel on all iPhone 4s?

Week 31 of 2010 is July 25 to July 31, 1 week post-antennagate press conference.

I thought it might be new because it touches the antenna and bridges the gap at the "death spot" before my finger goes anywhere near. If I touch that spot I lose 1 bar, maybe 2, of 3G signal (iOS 4.0.1) and that's it. So it made me wonder if it was part of some redesign but I guess not. Move along, nothing to see here!

I think as someone else mentioned, it's not something new.

Mine has it too, and I was in the "Ships on July 2nd" club.
