So I when i put the Mighty Mouse directly on my brushed metal it acts like it is having a seizure.. The pointer randomly goes all over the screen when trying to use the mouse...

I tried the mouse on the bottom of the desk (It is smooth on the bottom with no brush marks) and the mouse performed great...

Anyone else have these problems?

I think I might try some sand paper on the desk....

Also looking at this mouse pad:

I am just frustrated at this point..

This is most likely normal for brushed metal. You have to remember that you have different angles of metal and since metal reflects, you have the laser bouncing off in multiple directions, causing the sensor to see multiple beams.

You might be better off just buying a mouse pad. Something not to invasive, but not too thin that you can see the metal underneath it. I don't really have any suggestions since I haven't used a mouse pad in probably over 2 years at least. Sorry.

Ahh, that explanation makes perfect sense.

So I guess sandpaper would do little to nothing then?
