Metal Gear Solid 1 on Mac

I am able to play Metal Gear Solid 1 on my mac using the ported PCSX. I have sound problems though and video problems. During cut scenes, it keeps lagging. It's so choppy, even the audio get's chopped like it replays. It's annoying. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Or does anyone have a better video plug-in for PCSX 1.6pre?
