The purpose of this post is to verify RX 580 supports metal and I am not retarded for thinking something is not making sense.

Open Core Legacy Patcher website says to run open core, a metal graphics card will be needed. They continued:

GPUs that support Metal are as follows:

  • Intel HD 4000 series (Ivy Bridge/3rd gen) and newer
  • AMD HD 7000 series and newer (GCN 1)
  • NVIDIA GTX 600 and 700 series (Kepler)

Meanwhile, sometime in the last week, I was stopped abruptly at 2:22 am in a dangerous part of town, and told in absolutely clear terms:

RX 580 supports metal

My exhaustive search of the World Wide Web has turned up NO CREDIBLE REFERENCE to a valid relationship between RX580 graphics card and any of:

Intel HD 4000 series (Ivy Bridge/3rd gen) and newer
AMD HD 7000 series and newer (GCN 1)
NVIDIA GTX 600 and 700 series (Kepler)

Something is retarded here, is it me?

You probably want to review this thread...

  • AMD HD 7000 series and newer (GCN 1)

The AMD HD 7000 series was released in 2012.
The Radeon 580 was released in 2017.

Ergo the relationship between the two is the 580 is a newer graphics card than the 7000 series, and thus supports Metal.
