iPhone Methods you have customized the look of your iPhone without Winterboard

What are the tricks or mods you have used to modify the appearance of your iPhone without the installation of Winterboard?

I am looking to get away from the stock appearance and would like to at least attempt to do so without Winterboard (or, Dreamboard).

Just manually replace every file with one you want.

Thanks. I was hoping for Cydia tweaks specifically designed to alter the appearance vs using iFile.

I don't use iFile. I use SSH for all of my customization needs.
