Are there no legitimate 3rd party USB-C to Lightning cables because the manufacturers know the 2018 iPhones will have a USB-C port?

Apple sells two lengths of USB C to Lightning cables; 1m & 2m.

Or Apple hasn't licensed them or vendors don't see a big market for them.
