Miami - iPad 2 availability

Just wondering if anyone had inside information about availability for iPad 2's for tomorrow (Monday March 28th, 2011)? I was told by an apple employee to make the lines early that some shipments are expected at Apple stores early morning.

Anyone have any info?
 
I was at the apple store Dadeland last saturday for a genus bar appointment. At 10am there was a queue of approx 30 people. then once that queue was gone, another 30 were brought round from the food court entrance by an apple employee. This must have happened about 4 times.

I think they must have started assigning the tickets outside the shopping mall, rather than directly outside the store to avoid congestion.

I too am hoping to get a 16gb wifi ipad this saturday (as i work on a cruise ship so am only in miami every saturday). Does anyone have any tips as to where most of the stock is headed?
 
Got mine at the Lincoln Road store the after launch. It just seems complete hit or miss. Apple employees give no info. You've just got to go and see if they have it. If it were me, I'd be in line before they open just in case.

Early as in 6am? Or more like 8:30 am? They told me Its nothing like iPhone 4 launch lines.

Just got to the Falls apple store and was told that they don't have any available and they aren't sure when there will be receiving another shipment for security reasons.

If anyone knows where theres some wifi models available in the Kendall area, please post that info.

Check out the tracking info threads. You can search all the nearby Targets and Best Buys online.

That's what I was told the day I got mine. I went back 3 hours later and they had a lot. Like I said, you just have to keep going in.

They will never tell you they know when they're getting more. Don't bother even asking at an Apple store.

Where do we search for these "tracking info threads?" Is this on macrumors forums? Don't mean to sound like a noob.

well no luck :( I've tried every bestbuy, target, wallmart, and apple store in the general area and I've been told the same story that they dont know when they will be receiving new shipments.

Hopefully some of you will have better luck.

really!?!? so even calling you think they won't be honest about stock?
 
FYI (just like the past 2 weekends).

We need to remind everyone that Apple and other retailers do not receive shipments on Sunday.

That means no iPad 2 availability for walk ins on Monday (unless somehow that store had stock leftover from Sunday).

Pointless to wait for Monday stock when there's no delivery on Sunday.
 
Came across this tracking site for Radio Shack and Target stores which came in handy. I picked up a 16gb black wifi at Radio Shack in dolphin mall this morning. Supplies were limited.

As of this post there is 1 16 g wifi at the shack in southland mall and the key largo store. I was looking for 3g so passed on those.
 
went to lincoln road this morning - they only had verizon models. Not sure if they had any other models, or just if I didn't get there in time (930)
 
I went to Dadeland AND The Falls and both also only had Verizon models at the time I got there... 10:20AM. The girl in The Falls told me they did get Wi-fi units, but those went first. She also told me they usually get shipments everyday except Sundays, so to just go during the week early and that I should be fine.

BTW, the Target in Aventura had black 64GB Wi-fi models. I'm holding on for the 32GB... it was hard walking away from that one!! :(
