The VoiceMemo app and all the variants store recordings on the iPhone/iPod. A 1-hr recording is about 300M in size and emailing it/downloading it is painful. handsfree.ly 's Mic streams recordings remotely. When you stop a recording, an MP3 version is generated within seconds. And you can email it, organize it in folders and add it to iTunes. You are emailed a link to the MP3 recording. That 300M recording turns into a 29M file for playing. A streaming mp3 player is included.
