Mic for iPod Touch 1st Gen

Hey,

I was wondering if you can get a microphone for the iPod Touch 1st Generation (Jailbroken 2.2) so I can use Skype to make voice calls over WiFi. I don't want to have to open up the internals so a neat looking headphone based or dock adapter based would be best.

No you can not, the Ist gen ipod touch does not have the right connections to use the mics.

^ He's right. You'll have to get yourself a 2nd gen if you want to do that.

actually, you can get one of the touchmods mics, i have one and it works fine.. look it up..

umm, actually the iVoiceIII works on the 1st gen ipod touch with firmware 2.2, the touchmods one only works with 1.1.4.

Apple made it posible on 2.2 to conect a mic to the doc on the first gen

Fine, but what about 2nd gen thru the dock? No go?

Are you sure about this? Do you have if from your own experience?
They advertise only for the iPod Nano, NOT for the iPod touch!!

I pray it works, I also seek a new microphone after the Swedisch one did not work anymore after updating to 2.0 and now 2.2 .
