Microft Update not updating in Boot Camp

I have had XP installed for about a month now in Boot Camp. Since it's been installed, though, I have never been able to get Microsoft Update to actually download the patches. It will go through the process of finding them, but when the "Installing Updates" screen pops up, nothing happens. Is there any way to fix this? TIA.
