Hi everybody,
I've a 24'' iMac running Mac OSX 10.6.8. The internal microphone isn't working anymore, the only thing you can hear (f.e. in Skype, but even in other sw) is a disturbing loud noise, both on OSX or in Windows 7 through Bootcamp.
The mac is not in apple care anymore, and I thought I could "fix" this by buying a USB headset, bypassing the mic port: I was wrong. OSX does detect the device, and I can select it as default input in both System Preferences and Skype, and the audio is clear on the headphones, but the mic is not working, you can't ear anything and the volume bar (put to the top) shows no sign of sound.
What can I do to solve this?
Thanks,
Gabriele
