I'm looking for an inexpensive microphone to use with my Mac Pro while running Skype in Win XP under Boot Camp. I have an iSight cam, but it it's mic is not supported under Windows. I tried a small mic I bought some time ago for my PC laptop, but it does not work. Apparently the mic has to be self-powered to work on a Mac Pro!

Darn it, I hate answering my own question! It looks like, until someone at Apple decides to write a Windows driver for the iSight, the only way to get an inexpensive ($20-$30) mic on a Mac Pro is to buy an USB mic.

OK, how many of my own questions do I need to answer to get promoted to demigod status?

a lot of companies have recently been releasing condenser USB microphones for podcasting and other computer uses. If you can stretch your budget, check some of these out as the quality will be far superior to the standard 20-30$ USB mic...

I'm not looking to record anything, so quality is not my top concern. All I need is a mic that I can use with Skype while I'm in Boot Camp.
